About  Paula

In addition to being an author, Paula has been a speaker for many years, including presentations for the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) Conference, Sam Houston State University, University of Houston Clear Lake,  and International Association of Public Participation Practitioners Conference.  She is also the author of published articles in the Houston Business Journal and other newspapers. Additionally, Paula has been quoted in a variety of publications such as Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, Community Impact Newspaper, The Bryan Eagle, and Growth Magazine.

Education:

Paula holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Magna Cum Laude) from Sam Houston State University. Her career of more than 40 years includes high school English teacher, partner in a woman-owned business, National Manager for a worldwide engineering firm, and Executive Director at a major Houston association.

Awards:

Inducted into Sam Houston State University's Wall of Honor for College of Humanities and Social Sciences (2019).  Awarded Official Recognition certificate from Texas Governor Greg Abbott: In recognition of and appreciation for 13 years of meritorious service as Executive Director of the North Houston Association; Awarded Certificate of Congressional Recognition and Commendation of the United States Congress (18th District, Texas) for service and contributions in role as Executive Director of North Houston Association; City of Houston Proclamation (Mayor Annise Parker) for community leader service as Executive Director of North Houston Association.​​​​​​​​

Past Service:

Chair and a member of Sam Houston State University College of Humanities and Social Sciences Advisory Board, Founding Board of Directors for the Greens Bayou Corridor Coalition (GBCC), and Board of Directors for Leadership North Houston.
